It is a major objective of the offshore oil and gas industry to prevent incidents occurring and if they do occur to be able to respond effectively to them.
This course is designed for offshore personnel travelling by Boat and transfer to and from offshore installation by means of Swing Ropes and other means of personnel transfer.
This programme is designed to meet the initial onshore safety and emergency response training for new entrants and all personnel currently travelling and transferring by boat to an offshore oil and gas installation. During the training programme, delegates will be required to demonstrate their skills and understanding of the following key areas.
- Donning of an appropriate flotation device as used during boat transfer.
- A method of transfer between a simulated boat deck and a
- simulated fixed installation deck using swing rope transfer with luggage transfer.
- Actions in preparation for a boat emergency.
- Actions in the event of an abandonment.
Competency: Competencies of delegates are assessed during practical exercises.
Pre-requisites: Updated Medical Certificate.
