To train candidates to be an experienced Rope Access Technician who is able to perform more complex tasks under the supervision of a Level 3 rope access safety supervisor, having successfully completed at least 1000 logged hours over a minimum period of 12 months
Candidates must possess a valid Level 2 certificate. Candidates should be physically fit and unaffected by any disability or medical condition that may prevent them from working safely. They shall ensure that they have an adequate level of fitness, are physically able to perform the tasks expected in terms of strength, agility and co-ordination, and are able to withstand the ordeal of the working environment, such as heat, cold, and other inclement weather
- Demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of Level 1
- Capable of more complex rigging, including re-belays, deviations and tensioned lines
- Rope work and rope management
- Rigging of various anchor systems
- Able to undertake rescues from a variety of situations
- Able to assemble and implement hauling systems
- Inspection of colleagues PPE (Buddy Check)
Pre-requisites : Updated Medical Certificate; Minimum 12 months experience and 1000 working hours logged; Valid IRATA Level 1 certificate
Competency: Competencies of delegates are assessed during written and practical exercises.
For Upgrades/Refreshers : original logbook is required to be presented to the Assessor during assessment day
