COMPRESSED AIR EMERGENCY BREATHING SYSTEM INITIAL DEPLOYMENT

The Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System training programme is designed for personnel travelling to or from offshore installations/vessels via helicopter where a Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System will be provided for use in the case of an emergency ditching.

The Target group is personnel that are issued with Compressed Air Emer gency Breathing System (CAEBS) whilst travelling to work by helicopter and may be required to use a CA-EBS in the event of an emergency.

The CAEBSInitial Deployment training programme provides the delegate with the knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a CAEBS and appropriate emergency response actions to ta ke should the requirement for emergency use arise.

  • The Fundamental Differences between re-breather and compressed
  • air system, technology and use.
  • The rationale and use of CA-EBS in helicopter emergency situations
  • The hazards associated with CA-EBS
  • Pre flight inspections of the life jacket and CA-EBS
  • Donning the life jacket with CA-EBS correctly, including buddy
  • checks
  • An emergency deployment of the CA-EBS in a dry environment

Competency: Competencies of delegates are assessed during written and practical exercises.

Pre-requisites: Updated Medical Certificate, in-date BOSIET/FOET/TBOSIET/TFOET
